Scholarship to Attend the Maryland Library Association Conference

The Information Policy and Access Center (iPAC) is offering two $500 scholarships to current students to help defray the cost of attending the Maryland Library Association (MLA) Conference. This year’s annual conference will take place May 8-10 in Ocean City, Maryland. More information about the conference can be found on the conference website: http://www.mdlib.org/conference/

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must be a current MLS student at the iSchool and a member of MLA. If you are not a current MLA member and are interested in a FREE membership sponsored by the Development of Emerging and Aspiring Librarians (DEAL) group of MLA, please email them at: deal.maryland@gmail.com.

To apply, students must complete the attached application along with a 500 word essay that addresses personal goals for attending the conference and how attending the MLA conference will contribute to professional development and career goals. All applications must be emailed to mlsprogram@umd.edu no later than Wednesday, March 27th.  Winners will be notified by email during the week of April 7th.
