Instruction and Reference Librarian at Prairie State College – Chicago Heights, IL


To provide professional reference service, instruction and collection development for students, faculty, and staff of the College, in support of programs, courses, and the information needs of the College community.


Faculty librarians are expected to fulfill professional workload responsibilities of thirty-five (35) hours per week and, as per the Faculty Federation/Board of Trustees collective bargaining contract, Librarians are required to work no more than seven (7) hours per day. These normal workload responsibilities are exclusive of any teaching assignment unless the affected Librarian and supervisor mutually agree as to how the teaching duties shall be equated for purposes of determining workload.

Faculty librarians fulfill additional professional obligations and commitments within or outside of the thirty-five hours workload for professional contributions to the College and in accordance with the Librarian’s interests and abilities.
