We seek a creative, innovative, and collaborative librarian within the first year of degree completion, to engage in a dynamic three-year fellowship. The ideal candidate holds a strong commitment to serving diverse and historically underrepresented groups, and will be effective in fostering dialogue and learning opportunities across all segments of the college community. The Resident Diversity Librarian for Research and Learning will contribute to teaching, learning, and research through sustainable, strategic partnerships, and will collaborate with colleagues to develop responsive and scalable resources that support campus-wide retention efforts, particularly for those focused on first-generation or underrepresented students, as well as students in need.
As a member of the ACRL Diversity Alliance, Guilford College will afford the Resident the opportunity to network and participate within a broader community of higher education professionals. This will distinctively support the Resident’s aspirations in areas such as professional engagement, scholarly communications, and leadership development.
This three-year appointment will support this librarian’s engagement in professional scholarly activities, including attendance at national and regional conferences, as deemed appropriate to furthering professional development and networking.
