UMD iSchool Wikipedia Editing Workshop

March 11 @ 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Free

Join iSchool Student Organizations, iDiversity and SLA @ UMD, in collaboration with Wikimedia DC for an editing workshop centered around themes of disability justice!

Wikipedia is an openly editable resource, meaning that you can improve the quality and accuracy of Wikipedia entries. As one of the web’s most visited reference sites, Wikipedia serves as a starting point for visitors who want to learn more about a variety of topics.

Join us at the University of Maryland iSchool Editing Workshop and help to improve the quality of Wikipedia articles related to Disability Justice. Attendees will learn to edit existing articles and create new ones with the help of experienced Wikipedians. This event is co-hosted by student organizations iDiversity and Special Libraries Association @ UMD.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Lunch will be provided.

Laptops are required. Please bring your own. Wikimedia DC has two laptops to loan. Reserve one by emailing info@wikimediadc.org. University of Maryland students are encouraged to check out laptops from UMD Libraries.
