About the Blog
blogMLIS is the official blog of the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) Program at Maryland’s iSchool. It is maintained by the MLIS Director, MLIS Program Coordinator, and a crack team of MLIS students. On it you’ll find official program information, iSchool news and events, resources for MLIS students, and more. Our goal is to provide you with a single space to get all of your MLIS Program information and have a little fun while doing it.
Want to Write for blogMLIS?
We welcome/want/need/desire your input! Have an idea for a story? Have a question about the program? A resource you’d like to share? Let us know!

We want blogMLIS to be a fun and inviting space where MLIS students, faculty, staff, alumni, and interested observers can comment on stories, share ideas, and have respectful debates. To that end we ask that you keep the tone of comments professional and respectful. Comments that include obscene language, slanderous remarks about a particular person/aspect of the program, false information, or spam will be removed.
At times the blog will provide links to stories, blogs, and/or information from sites beyond those at the University of Maryland and the iSchool. Ideas expressed on those unaffiliated sites do not necessarily reflect those of the University or the iSchool. Links to such sites should not be viewed as endorsements.
