The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in beautiful Prescott, Arizona, is seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking and collaborative professional for the position of Research and Instruction Services Librarian. As part of ERAU’s Hazy Library and Learning Services team, we are excited to welcome a new team member who will contribute to a respected tradition of providing research learning services to the campus, building strong relationships with faculty and staff, and collaborating to provide face-to-face as well as virtual learning assistance that supports students, faculty and staff in promoting academic success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Associate Director for Research and Learning Services, the librarian, as a member of the Research and Instruction Services team, collaborates with faculty to provide instruction and workshops onsite and in library spaces that support and encourage student inquiry, critical thinking, and creativity. Focused effort is placed on teaching information research skills to all levels of students in the ERAU learning community – from introductory to capstone and graduate levels. Working with a team of innovative librarians, the successful candidate will develop and deliver library research instruction programs, maintain information resources and tools that advance student learning, provide research consultation with faculty and students, and serve on multiple library and campus committees. This librarian will serve as liaison to one or more academic disciplines and coordinate information resource management. Schedule will include some evening and weekend hours in rotation with other librarians.

The university’s mile-high, 539-acre western campus is located in beautiful Prescott, Arizona which features extensive recreational facilities and opportunities in and near the campus. In nearby northern Arizona, opportunities abound for hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, skiing, and snowboarding. We are within 2 hours of Grand Canyon to the north and 2 hours from the greater metropolitan area of Phoenix to the south, offering myriad cultural attractions.

The campus’ new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Education Center (opening Fall 2017) houses 20 state-of-the-art labs dedicated to robotic systems, satellites, unmanned aerial systems, commercial aircraft, military aircraft, physics, chemistry, biology, and more. The building also contains classrooms, a multimedia center, a planetarium, and a supercomputer system.
