According to CNN, approximately 4,800 public and state libraries across the country will be giving out free eclipse glasses for the upcoming Great American Eclipse on August 21, 2017. What an awesome opportunity for libraries to support learning about this natural phenomenon!

Unfortunately, the map linked in the article detailing which libraries are participating is broken. Reach out to your local public library and see if they are participating. If you happen to find any libraries giving out glasses in the DMV/Maryland area, email mlisprogram@umd.edu and we will update this post! Also, if you see any cool eclipse-related programming forthcoming at your library, let us know and we will share with your iSchool colleagues!
