Outreach and Scholarly Communication / Research & Instruction Librarian

Western Carolina University’s Hunter Library seeks a knowledgeable and responsive librarian to join its service-oriented, tenure-track faculty in the Research and Instruction Services (RIS) department. The successful applicant will lead the planning and delivery of innovative outreach, web content, and instruction to the university community, with an emphasis on scholarly production issues such as open access and copyright. In addition, the librarian in this position will coordinate general distance education services such as creation of video tutorials, maintenance of the library’s presence at the Biltmore Park instructional site, the course management software (Blackboard) and the Campus Online Portal (MyWCU). The Outreach Librarian will also develop outreach related to current events, such as the campus theme and student and faculty research.
