The iSchool’s Alumni Chapter will be sponsoring and hosting the webinar via Adobe Connect.
Four speakers will talk about a wide variety of the professional development courses and tools. Webinar participants will have opportunity to ask questions via the chat feature of Adobe Connect.
Speakers and topics include:
- Tricia Donovan (Coordinator of Professional Education, University of Maryland iSchool) will be talking about the Professional Education program at UMD’s iSchool, from non-credit short courses on topics such as children’s literature and information privacy, to one-credit tool courses and certificates.
- Joshua A. Westgard (Systems Librarian, Digital Programs and Initiatives, UMD Libraries) will discuss resources and strategies for teaching yourself to code.
- Victoria Weaver, a University of Maryland MIM (Master’s of Information Management) graduate (2005) and IT Executive with over 20 years of experience working in private, public and non-profit sectors, will talk about Evisors.com, a new platform that provides access for personal career coaching and webinars from professionals and alumni.
- Elizabeth Tobey (Inventory Inspector, LAC Group) will discuss online professional development classes she has taken through ALA Online and Library Juice Academy.
