Dublin/Berlin (May 22 – June 6, 2017)
The seminar will focus on the ways information gathering, dissemination, privacy, and security affect business. In both cities students will participate in business visits and will have the opportunity to network. Possibilities include Facebook, Red Hat, Google, and others, including startups. The program is also in partnership with University College Dublin and Humboldt University of Berlin, and is also comprised of academic lectures and cultural excursions. Prague (May 21 – June 3, 2017)
Participants on this program will enjoy lectures and tours related to librarianship in a country that deals with a history of monarchy, empire, Communism, and the meeting of east and west. Participants experience firsthand how the democratization of the Czech Republic, formerly a communist state, has affected the accessibility of information, in both print and electronic forms.
