The Maryland Cybersecurity Center is searching for a Graduate Assistant
for Educational Outreach!
The Maryland Cybersecurity Center (MC2) is seeking a 12-month Graduate
Assistant (GA) who will serve as the coordinator of all MC2 educational
outreach programs. MC2 currently runs several workshops, summer camps, and
outreach events for middle and high school students to increase interest
and awareness in cybersecurity and related STEM fields. Beginning in the
Spring, the GA would be solely responsible for coordinating all outreach
programs, including advertising/recruitment, correspondence with
parents/guardians and community members, collaboration with campus and
community partners, participant registration, recruitment and training of
undergraduate volunteers/staff, organizing event logistics, and providing
day-of event leadership.

*Minimum Qualifications and Additional Information: *
Admission as a full-time graduate student at the University of Maryland,
College Park. A Master’s or Doctoral candidate in Counseling and Personnel
Services, Higher Education, Student Affairs or a Related field is
preferred. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and
has excellent written and oral communication skills, including public
speaking. The candidate must be able to both work independently and as a
member of interdisciplinary teams. Experience with program coordinating
and/or event planning is preferred. Experience working with middle and high
school students is preferred. Women and underrepresented minorities are
strongly encouraged to apply. This is a 12 month position, ideally for at
least 1 year. (Start date: January 21, 2017). The average work week is 40
hours for Summer Term and 20 hours during the Fall, Winter, and Spring
Terms. Hours will vary and will include some weekend and evening hours.
This position also includes up 10 credits of tuition remission in the Fall
and Spring semesters, 4 credits in Winter Term, and up to 8 credits of
tuition remission during Summer Term. The stipend is $19,100 for the Fall,
Winter and Spring Terms (9.5 months) and $10,047 for the Summer Terms (2.5
months), totaling $29,147 for the 12 month period.
