Just a reminder that you can now start submitting your project proposals (300-word abstract describing your project) for the iSchoolChallenge competition — http://ischoolchallenge.umd.edu/
The iSchoolChallenge ’17 – Showcase your project at the iSchool will be hosted on April 14, 2017.
This is an opportunity for you to display your work to a panel of faculty judges. You may work on a project by yourself, or better yet, grab some classmates and form a team of 2-4! Your projects can be in any field or area, and use the technology of your choice, as long as the main theme is related to Information Studies.
IMPORTANT! The competition is open to all iSchool graduate (PhD, MIM, MLIS, HCIM) and undergraduate (BSIS) programs.
Dates to keep in mind:
- Proposal submission opens – November 1st, 2016
- Proposal submission closes – December 1st, 2016 (midnight EST)
- Notification about your project inclusion in the competition – December 10th
- Further details will be provided
Project will be graded in the following categories:
|Originality||Project is original and/or innovative in concept or approach|
|Usefulness||The project is valuable and solves the defined problem or meets the identified need|
|Degree to which the project contributed to potentially new research|
|Quality of Work||Project is well designed and constructed|
|Implementation is relevant and complete enough to show the important aspects of the project|
|Presentation||Project is demonstrated in appropriate detail for understanding by audience|
|Poster is attractive, easy to read, and layout is in appropriate logical order|
|Organization is clear and complete without extraneous information|
