Welcome to the second year of our Career Focus initiative, our series on career exploration, career readiness and tactics for job searching. Whether you are just starting the program or graduating at the end of the semester, we know that finding that perfect internship or job is a focus for everyone.
In addition to the events listed below for the fall, Career Focus will also include blog posts with resources to help land the prefect position. The pdf attached to this post will also give you an idea of the events happening across the iSchool and into the spring semester as well. Mark all of these dates!
Resume & Interview Workshop
Thursday, October 13 / Time TBD / Location TBD
This workshop will provide participants with a chance to gain insights into resume and interview “do’s and don’ts”, receive feedback on their resumes, and practice interviewing skills. An RSVP will be required for this event.
Internship & Networking Fair
Wednesday, October 19 / 4:30-6:30pm / McKeldin Library Special Events Room, room 6137
Don’t miss this chance to meet with potential field study supervisors! This is also an excellent opportunity to network and we encourage anyone who is planning to complete an internship or field study anytime over the next year to attend. Bring your resume! Express an interest in working at an organization and keep in contact with them. Even if they do not have a job to offer right now, they might in the near future. There will be many noteworthy institutions represented at the fair.

TBD Fall 2016
Want to be published and present at an upcoming conference but not sure where to start? Does the idea of leading a panel discussion make you nervous? Keep this panel on your radar! Details will be posted to the blog as soon as they’re available.
